I originally got this because I smashed my tailbone. My tailbone is completely recovered now but I still wear it every time I go because it's unnoticeable when you're riding, and keeps your ass off the wet chair lift. If you’re one of those guys that sits down to strap in, also handy there. My ass stays dryer with this, and the impact protection is just an added bonus.

I’ve owned a few of these protective shorts to use for snowboarding. I found them provide just the right amount of protection without being overly bulky. Most other pants make it look like you’ve got a huge wagon you’re draggin’, but these remain fairly subtle. The one downside is that means you don’t have any protection on the sides.

I have an IPhone 8 Plus. It is too large for the front pocket in my pants and way too large for a shirt pocket. During the Fall months I usually wear a light-weight jacket, but most of my jackets do not have a pocket that allows me to securely carry my large phone. This case and the strapping mechanism can be worn comfortably under a light coat or even between my t-shirt and my shirt. The straps keep the phone in place but make it easy to remove the phone when it is needed. This approach is similar to the hand gun holstering approach used by some law enforcement officers.
